Server Rules

Please read all rules carefully. It is your responsibility to stay updated with any changes.

General Community Rules

You must have access to Discord. This is primarily what we use to communicate whether it regards staff, applications, server events, and etc.
You are not allowed to play any content that is under copyright protection (DMCA).
You must have a working, clear microphone.
Do not influence others to break rules, you will most likely receive a more harsh punishment.
Do not use any real-life events in the city. No suicide RP, real-life terrorism threats, pandemics or mental illnesses, not limited to these examples.
Remain in-character. You cannot stop roleplay if something happens that you do not like. All parties must agree to it.
Never use an explicit or offending name on any Virtue platforms.
No TOS racism, trolling, homophobia and absolutely no sexism.
Treat each other with respect.
Any sort of discrimination is not tolerated, this may result in a permanent removal on the first offense. There is a difference between not liking someone and being discriminatory.
Using derogatory terms such as, but not limited to, the word “retard” or “Nigga” is a bannable offense.
Attacking members in other Discord servers, YouTube, Twitter, etc. is prohibited and punishable.
It is your responsibility to stay updated with any rule changes.

Accounts, Donations, and Characters

Anything that occurs on your account is your responsibility.
All donations/purchases are permanent and non-refundable. If there has been a mistake, please contact one of the owners immediately.
The selling of any item gained from donating or any item at all is prohibited.
It is prohibited to buy or sell accounts and/or valuables from another user. We are not accountable for scams and/or permanent death/bans of accounts or characters.
If you lose access to your Discord account, we are not able to transfer the Allowlist status to another Discord.
All purchases/donations are tied to your account and you will be asked what character you want the donation perks given to. You cannot change your mind in the future once they are given or transfer them after.
If a buyer is banned for violating server rules, any purchases made by the buyer will not be refunded. Buyers are held responsible for their actions, just as any other player.

Characters

You are not allowed to transfer any money, assets, or items your character has accumulated to any of your other characters for any reason.
Separate your characters. They do not know each other, they do not know where any of your coke is, who your friends or enemies are, etc. Other characters you create are not your cousin, brother, sister, auntie, etc.
Anything in Discord that is under Aura Commonwealth or Aura Media is in-character.
Anything posted there means evidence or subject for search and can be used as proof.
When you die and are taken to the hospital, aka revived by pressing E, you must not return to the RP scenario you were previously in for at least 45 minutes.
You are not allowed to have multiple characters that are affiliated with the same circle or gang. You must separate your RP.
Serial killers, paranormal characters, etc. must be approved by the staff team via a Discord ticket.

Communication, OOC, and Reporting

Refusal to communicate with other players in English will result in a ban.
Players are allowed to speak to each other in another language through personal messages or in other personal, non-public spaces.
Any kind of advertising of other FiveM communities or cyber threats is forbidden on all servers and channels. Malicious advertisements or cyber threats aimed at hurting the community will result in a permanent ban.
In-character offensive language and threats are allowed, however insulting another character gives them a roleplay reason to take hostile action against your character. Racism and sexual harassment are not allowed in character or outside character.
Any kind of out-of-character offensive language, threats, or racism is prohibited. You cannot make death threats to living people. Death threats aimed at living people will result in much harsher punishments.
Excessively screaming swear words at people or a person is not tolerated.
A staff member has the right to request that a player stops offending another player’s character if the administrator thinks that the in-character exception for offensive language is being abused.
People who bring low quality mics or unclear voice changers may be brought into a ticket so staff can help fix the issue or give tips for clarity.
Bad Faith Rule: Purposefully being combative towards staff or causing unnecessary issues can be grounds for your removal from the community.
OOC talk can be done in Discord and is prohibited while in game.
Do not use immersion-breaking words.
You are not allowed to mention other towns or counties under any circumstance.
Referring to other characters, whether your own or not, as cousins, alter ego, etc. is never allowed.
Players should use the Discord ticketing system to report players, whether it be a past or present incident.
All necessary information and evidence must be given with the report.
Please allow up to a week for your report to be processed, though the usual turnaround is 24 hours.
If a player thinks that a staff member is abusing their powers, the player may submit a player report using a Discord ticket.
Personally messaging a staff member will not result in a satisfactory response. You may be ignored or forwarded to a ticket.
Staff members can request players to halt all actions in a roleplay situation if server rules have been or are currently being broken. Revenge reports are never allowed.

Roleplay Rules

Combat Logging: Players are not allowed to disconnect or respawn from a roleplay or combat situation that could have in-character consequences. This includes respawning during an active scenario.
Off-Limits Areas: No areas as of yet.
Revenge Killing & Deathmatch: RP needs to be initiated before a shootout begins. Twitter fingers can be considered part of the RP scenario as long as the conversation is active. If you have active beef with someone, you do not need to engage in conversation, however you need to make your presence known by voice initiation. Drive-bys at low speed with voice initiation are allowed, but stealth killing is not.
You are allowed to attack another player if they try to hurt you or damage your property intentionally, if they ignore your threats and attempt to resist, or if they try to take hostile action against you.
No Random Deathmatch (RDM): Killing, hurting another player, or damaging their property intentionally by use of force without a valid in-character reason.
Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM): Killing, hurting another player, or damaging property intentionally using a vehicle without a valid in-character reason. Even with a valid reason, intentionally running someone over can still be considered low quality RP.

New Life Rule

New Life Rule is triggered once you die and respawn. Getting downed is not considered dying, so if EMS treats you, the rule is not triggered. If you respawn by using E, you lose all memory from the scenario.
After you die, you cannot talk about your death through in-character channels unless an individual or party informs you through RP.
Once a player dies, they cannot come back to the area of their death for 15 minutes, cannot take hostile action against the party responsible for 45 minutes, and lose every RP reason to take hostile action against the party responsible.
Another player is not able to decide when another permanently kills their character. This is decided OOC and once agreed they can commence with the scenario.

Metagaming & Powergaming

Metagaming: Using real-life information gained from outside the game to benefit your character's in-game knowledge. Examples include using Discord information in town, watching a stream to find someone’s location, or using ID numbers to identify people.
Metagaming to gain an in-game advantage, such as requesting help from allies through OOC channels, will result in more severe punishments than accidental metagaming.
Powergaming: Roleplaying with mechanics or abilities that do not exist or forcing someone else into a situation where they do not have choices.
Whilst in town, under no circumstances are you allowed to be in a livestream of someone else who is also in the city.
You are not allowed to demand someone hand over ownership of their horse.
Demanding someone to withdraw money from their bank account is not allowed.
Using /me to force RP in your favor rather than leaving it open-ended for all parties involved is not allowed.
Unnecessarily cuffing or lassoing someone is not allowed, including doing so to gain an advantage over someone not in the downed state.
Roleplaying something unrealistically ridiculous or forcing RP actions on other players by using the /me command is classed as powergaming.
Under no circumstances can a criminal force a victim to sell property such as houses, horses, or businesses.
Torture RP: You must receive consent from the other party through a /me. If they respond that they are not okay with it, you must end the scenario in a timely manner.
Use of third-party VOIP is strictly prohibited while connected to the server. This includes Skype, Discord, Zoom, etc.

Roleplay Quality

Cop baiting is a form of low quality roleplay. This is where you intentionally bait police into a scenario without real RP behind it.
Please refrain from playing money simulator. You are allowed to grind, but do not spend all your days grinding without interacting with other individuals.
Please limit salty behavior, such as RP shitting on someone when they are down, excessive toxicity, repeated mag dumping into a downed body, playing loud music, screaming quotes like gang-name K, or spitting on downed individuals.
No camping to rub salt in the wounds if you win or lose a fight.
Scenes are to be used to enhance RP through giving context to a scene.
Criminals must provide proper reasoning during initiation before shooting police officers.

Fail / Low Quality Roleplay

FailRP / LQRP: Actions that are unrealistic or hurt the roleplay experience of other players.
Example: Giving communications while down.
Example: Failing to respond to /me interactions of other players, such as /me takes off mask or /me steals boots.
Example: Talking normally after you have gunshot wounds. Attempt to RP injuries through pain and screaming rather than normal conversation.
Example: Spectating any shootout.
Example: Robbing someone without reason or sufficient roleplay, including cops.
Example: Using /creator on the go to change your appearance. You must be at a wardrobe or barbershop.

Value of Life

You must value your life similar to the way you do your own life in real life. Do not engage in gunfights for fun knowing you would not do it IRL.
At all times you must value your life as if it were your last.
If you are at a clear disadvantage, such as having a gun pointed at the back of your head, you must comply with demands.
If you are outnumbered 3 to 1, you must comply. This does not mean you cannot attempt to escape when it makes sense.
A bad example of escape is running from a hostage situation in front of a bank while someone has a firearm ready on you.

Cheating & Exploiting

It is strictly prohibited to use game modifications or enhancements that give an unfair advantage, such as increased speed, no night visual packs, health regeneration, or teleportation. A player caught cheating will be permanently banned without warning.
Players are allowed to use visual enhancements or other modifications that do not give an unfair advantage. Binding keys to server commands or text messages is permitted.
Macroing: Using third-party software or hardware enhancements to automate actions. Macroing for financial benefit or to bypass AFK systems is bannable. All property and experience gained through macroing will be revoked.
Exploiting Bugs: Exploiting client or server bugs is strictly prohibited. Anything gained from an exploit will also be removed.
Camping animal spawns is a form of exploitation. Allow things to occur naturally.
All bugs must be reported on Discord.

Crime & Gangs

Gangs: Gangs are not all about running around and shooting each other. Be original and creative.
Initiate before shooting. You are expected to roleplay and use your words.
All information for gangs and how to apply can be found in the Gang Handbook.
Gangs may protect certain spots and tax their use, such as black markets or money wash locations.
Staff can revoke taxing for a specific job if overall rewards from taxing become excessive.
The limit for certain criminal activities is 6 criminals. Other criminal activity has a 12 group limit.
Store robberies, bank robberies, Fleeca robberies, and prison transports are restricted to the 6-man rule.
No outside help is allowed in a 6-man scenario. Whoever you bring is who you have until it is fully played out, including information providers and lookouts.
Groups are expected to be recording fights and hostile scenarios using software like OBS, Shadowplay, Gyazo Replay, MetalTV, etc.
Separate groups cannot work together and hit different objectives together. Both groups must follow respective timers.
Prison transports are considered a separate scenario than the original arrest and allow a new group of six.
Fake hostages are not allowed.
After committing a store robbery, impose a self-cooldown of 30 minutes. Banks are 90 minutes. Forts are 120 minutes. These cooldowns are not individual.
Players are allowed to rob other players through RP or by forcing hands up. There is no limit on how much money or items can be taken from a single robbery.
A criminal may scam victims of up to $50,000 in cash or equivalent item value, but the scam must be roleplayed in-game.
Scamming through OOC channels is not allowed.
Any scams involving menus or teleporting, excluding the I inventory menu, are prohibited.
If a scam relies on a server function not working properly, it is not allowed.
You cannot interfere in robberies without permission. A gang may interfere with a store robbery if the store falls within their turf.
You may follow people who have robbed a bank with the intention to rob them later, but RP must happen before any shootout.
You cannot rob government employees strictly for the purpose of obtaining their belongings.
You are not allowed to rob banks or trucks 60 minutes before restart and 30 minutes after restart.
You are not allowed to commit all other crimes 30 minutes before and after server restart.
In the event of an unscheduled restart or crash, wait 15 minutes before committing any crimes.
You must wait an hour before shooting cops again.

End of Rules

By playing in Virtue Roleplay, you agree to follow all rules listed above. Staff reserve the right to interpret and enforce these rules in the best interest of the community.
